Mike Fay, Clive, IA

Fay is the Vice President of Health Network and Innovation for Wellmark, Inc., in Des Moines, IA. His favorite memories as a Calhoun County 4-H member include touring Washington, D.C., with 40 4-H’ers from across the state and showing the Grand Champion Commercial Gilt at the Iowa State Fair. Currently, Fay serves as the Dallas County Swine Superintendent and the Assistant Swine Superintendent at the Iowa State Fair.

Fay states, “4-H is an opportunity. It allows young people to learn new things, meet new people, and learn that they can do more than they ever imagined.”

Kelli Gallagher, Elkhart, IA

Gallagher is the President of DeeZee, Inc., in Des Moines, IA. As a Polk County 4-H alum, she primarily exhibited cattle, but also participated in horticulture, sewing, baking and photography project areas. Gallagher’s youngest child is an active 4-H member in Polk County.

Gallagher says, “I do not have a specific 4-H memory, but more of an accumulation of the years of my involvement with my kids, aunts, uncles, and cousins. 4-H is an activity where families participate together, 3 to 4 generations deep.”

Aneisha Sritharan, Humboldt, IA, Youth Trustee

Sritharan is an active 4-H member in Humboldt County and has participated in many 4-H activities since she was able to attend Clover Kids events. She has served her club as the president and secretary and is a member of the 2020-21 Iowa 4-H State Council and 4-H Reporter groups. Sritharan is currently a high school senior and plans to attend medical school with hopes of becoming an orthopedic surgeon.

Sritharan states, "The life skills learned through 4-H are invaluable and priceless to our future generations. Investing in our youth is essential to the wellbeing of our world."

The new trustees join a 25-member board that provides the vision and fiscal oversight for the Iowa 4-H Foundation. The Iowa 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees is comprised of volunteers from both the public and private sectors who are leaders in their respective fields.

The Iowa 4-H Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides the private financial resources to develop and deliver quality 4-H youth programs throughout the state of Iowa. These opportunities help young people enhance their ability to use critical thinking, leadership, communication, and social skills – tools that will give them a competitive edge in their future endeavors.
