Annual 4-H’ers for 4-H Campaign raises over $20K for Iowa 4-H’ers!
AMES, Iowa— At the State 4-H Conference Banquet on Wednesday, June 26, the 2018-19 Iowa 4-H State Council presented a check for $20,599.99 to the Iowa 4-H Foundation from the 34th Annual 4-H’ers for 4-H campaign. This gift was made possible through the combined contributions of 259 4-H clubs from 63 counties across the state. These funds will support the State Youth Conference & 4-H Council, financial aid for 4-H’ers and scholarships for camps and other statewide 4-H events.
At the awards ceremony, the top county from each region was recognized in the categories of top per member contribution and total contribution. The Per Member award is given to the counties that raised the most dollars per 4-H club member. The Top County award is presented to the county that raises the most dollars overall. And the Most Improved award honors the county with the greatest increase in giving by percentage over the previous year.

“We continue to be impressed by not only the efforts of the State 4-H Youth Council, but individual clubs around the state who have decided that their program is worth investing in,” said Emily Saveraid, Executive Director of the Iowa 4-H Foundation. “Their contributions should inspire all of us to continue our support of the Iowa 4-H Program.”
The 4-H’ers for 4-H Campaign is the largest and longest-running fundraiser campaign conducted by 4-H members for 4-H members. In the past 34 years, Iowa 4-H members have given over $900,000 to provide financial assistance for 4-H’ers to attend camps or conferences, help members from low-income families pay their annual 4-H fee, fund speakers and entertainment at the State 4-H Youth Conference each year.
