Grunenwald Resigns as Iowa 4-H Foundation Executive Director

AMES, Iowa- The Iowa 4-H Foundation has announced that Albert Grunenwald has resigned his position as Executive Director of the Iowa 4-H Foundation effective April 7, 2017 after nearly 22 years of service. Grunenwald departs for a position with Cedarville University near Dayton, OH

“We are grateful for Albert’s years of service to the Iowa 4-H Foundation and his dedication to Iowa’s 4-H’ers,” said Doug Den Adel, president of the Iowa 4-H Foundation Board. “We wish him and his family well in their new endeavor. He will be missed not only by the Foundation, but by 4-H staff and 4-H’ers across the state.”

Grunenwald began with the Foundation in 1995 as a development officer. He also held the positions of Associate Director and COO before assuming the Executive Director role in the fall of 2014.

Says Grunenwald, “It has been both humbling and inspiring for me to work for an organization with such a vibrant and meaningful history. I am extremely thankful for the many donors and leaders, who continually give of themselves and their resources to ensure that 4-H opportunities remain available for all Iowa youth.”

The Board will conduct a full search to fill the position. In the interim, donors and friends should contact Doug Den Adel, president or Emily Saveraid, director of development.

The Iowa 4-H Foundation provides financial resources for youth development through 4-H. The Iowa 4-H Foundation provides funds for many of the opportunities – recognition, national 4-H trips, and scholarships and special programs– that allow young people to experience the benefits of 4-H. The opportunities we help fund for young people enhance their ability to use critical thinking, leadership, communication, and social skills – tools that will give them a competitive edge in their future endeavors.
