Ames, Iowa- The Iowa 4-H Foundation has elected Doug Den Adel of Madrid, IA president of the Board of Trustees at its annual meeting Friday, October 21, 2016 held at the Iowa Hall of Pride in Des Moines.
Serving his fifth year on the Foundation Board, Den Adel began his 4-H career as a member of the Just Us 4-H Club in Marion County. Den Adel raised and showed dairy cattle and swine as a 4-H’er. His two children are currently members of Madrid Merry Makers 4-H Club in Boone County.
Den Adel is an Iowa State University alum and serves as the president and COO of the Richard O. Jacobson Foundation. Doug and his wife, Heather, reside near Madrid with their two children.
"As a 4-H alum and parent, Doug understands the value of the Iowa 4-H experience and the Foundation's important role to support 4-H opportunities for all young people in our state," said Albert Grunenwald, Executive Director of the Iowa 4-H Foundation. "Doug is going to challenge all of us to 'think bigger' about our commitment to Iowa's 100,000 4-H youth."
Den Adel will lead a 23-member board that provides the vision and fiscal oversight for the Iowa 4-H Foundation. The Iowa 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees is comprised of volunteers from both the public and private sectors who are leaders in their respective fields.
“I’m proud to work with a board of trustees and staff who are dedicated to the Foundation’s mission of providing opportunities for youth development and supporting 4-H programs throughout the state of Iowa,” said Den Adel.
The Iowa 4-H Foundation provides the private financial resources to develop and deliver quality 4-H youth programs throughout the state of Iowa. These opportunities help young people enhance their ability to use critical thinking, leadership, communication, and social skills – tools that will give them a competitive edge in their future endeavors.
