The 31st Annual 4-H’ers for 4-H Campaign Raises Over $26K

AMES, Iowa—Because of the dedication from Iowa 4-H’ers, on Wednesday, June 29, at the State 4-H Youth Conference Banquet, the Iowa 4-H Foundation was given a check of $26,328.10 from the 4-H’ers for 4-H campaign to go towards projects as voted upon by the State 4-H Council.

 “The amount of support from the clubs across the state amazes more and more each year,” said Albert Grunenwald, Executive Director of the Iowa 4-H Foundation. “We are really lucky to have families and youth who care so much about this organization to give financially as well as with their time and talents.”

At the banquet, the top three counties in each category were recognized. Top County is presented to the county that raises the most dollars. Most Improved honors the highest increase in giving by percentage from the previous year.  Top Per Member was given to the counties that raised the most dollars per 4-H club member.  

Top County Total Contributions:
                  1. Webster - $1,541
                  2. Wright - $1,220
                  3. Sac - $1,134

Most Improved:
                  1. Dallas – 552%
                  2. Story – 408%
                  3. Jackson – 400%

Top Contribution Per Member:
                  1. Wright - $7.39
                  2. Sac - $6.48
                  3. Webster - $5.14

The Top Area award goes to the group of counties that raised the most dollars.

  1. Central - $7,072
  2. Southeast - $5,689.25
  3. Northeast - $5,457
  4. Northwest - $5,176.10
  5. Southwest - $2,933.75

The 4-H’ers for 4-H Campaign is the largest and longest-running fundraiser campaign conducted by 4-H members for 4-H members. In the past 31 years, Iowa 4-H members have given over $800,000 to provide financial assistance for 4-H’ers to attend camps or conferences, help members from low-income families pay their annual 4-H fee, fund speakers and entertainment at the State 4-H Youth Conference, and improve the Iowa 4-H Center each year.

The Iowa 4-H Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and provides the private financial resources to develop and deliver quality 4-H youth programs throughout the state of Iowa.
