Iowa 4-H Foundation Announces New Intern, Megan Andersen

AMES, Iowa— Megan Andersen has been named the new Marketing and Special Events Intern at the Iowa 4-H Foundation. Megan graduated from Dike New-Hartford High School and is pursuing her bachelor’s degree from Iowa State in Agricultural Business with a minor in Agronomy.

Being involved in her community is something that Megan has always felt was important. She is in numerous clubs at Iowa State including, Colleges Against Cancer, Agricultural Business Club and Bacon Expo. At the Iowa 4-H Foundation, Megan will be working on the Legacy Awards, the monthly e-news, social media, and much more alongside current marketing intern, Megan Evens, of Cedar Falls.

"I am excited to be able to work with the 4-H organization one more time. I have always loved 4-H and look forward to exploring a different part of it," Andersen said.

Megan grew up on a farm near Dike, Iowa where she was a clover kid and a nine-year 4-H’er. She participated in County Council, sewing, and was named the Grundy County Fair Queen in 2014. At the Grundy County Fair Megan, enjoys volunteering at the livestock shows. 

“We are pleased to have Megan join our staff team,” said Albert Grunenwald, Executive Director of the Iowa 4-H Foundation. “Her 4-H and college experiences will be great assets to the work we do.”

The Iowa 4-H Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides the private financial resources to develop and deliver quality 4-H youth programs to over 100,000 young people throughout the state of Iowa. These opportunities help enhance 4-H’ers’ ability to use critical thinking, leadership, communication, and social skills. In 2015, the Iowa 4-H Foundation invested over $1.2 million in Iowa 4-H'ers.
