Butcher Elected Iowa 4-H Foundation President
Bob Butcher to serve as president of Iowa 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees
ANKENY, Iowa- Bob Butcher was elected president of the Iowa 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees at their annual meeting on Friday, October 17, 2014 held at the Iowa Soybean Association in Ankeny, Iowa.
Butcher of Holstein, Iowa was a nine year member of the Battle Badgers 4-H Club in Ida County. As a 4-H member, Butcher attended State 4-H Youth Conference and National 4-H Club Congress. Many of his fond 4-H memories include showing livestock at the county and state fairs and AK-SAR-BEN. He also enjoyed being on the county livestock judging team and participating in contests around the state. Butcher has a degree in Animal Science from Iowa State University.
“Our challenge at the Iowa 4-H Foundation going forward is to continue to help provide opportunities and support for all 4-H youth throughout the state of Iowa,” says Butcher. “The board of trustees is made up of highly motivated individuals who believe in moving the foundation’s mission forward.”
Butcher has served on the Iowa 4-H Foundation board of trustees for four years. Currently, he is the Executive Vice President of Community Bank in Holstein, Iowa. He has chaired the Iowa 4-H Foundation Northwest Iowa Golf tournament, held annually in Arnold Park, Iowa, for the last three years.

The Iowa 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees is comprised of volunteers from both the public and private sectors. The current board is represented by: Iowa State University Extension and Outreach staff; business owners and professionals; agricultural community leaders; 4-H volunteers; and State 4-H Council representatives.
