Curt Lang selected to serve on the Iowa 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees
ANKENY, Iowa- Curt Lang was selected to serve on the Iowa 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees at their annual meeting on Friday, October 17, 2014 held at the Iowa Soybean Association in Ankeny, Iowa.
Curt spent 25 years in the ag equipment business, splitting his time between Deere & Company and owning/managing several John Deere dealerships in Iowa. He served on Deere’s dealer advisory council. His interests focus on strategic growth, business development and international production agriculture. Today he manages his family farm in partnership with his brother in Grinnell.
Lang states, “4-H provided me a jump-start into production agriculture. From my first pen-of-three swine project to the details of accurate recordkeeping, I’ve utilized those valuable skills in my various business experiences. Now, it’s time to give a portion of that back!”
“We are honored to have leaders like Lang serve on our board of trustees,” says Albert Grunenwald, Iowa 4-H Foundation Executive Director. “We have a board that is engaged and ready to ‘make the best better’ for Iowa 4-H’ers.”
Along with three other newly elected trustees, Lang joins a 27-member board that provides the vision and fiscal oversight for the Iowa 4-H Foundation. The Iowa 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees is comprised of volunteers from both the public and private sectors. The current board is represented by: Iowa State University Extension and Outreach staff; business owners and professionals; agricultural community leaders; 4-H volunteers; and State 4-H Council representatives.
