The Great Iowa 4-H Get-Together
The Iowa 4-H Foundation will host its 5th Annual 4-H Gala to support Iowa 4-H youth.
AMES, Iowa— An incredible evening at the Iowa 4-H Foundation Gala is sure to please 4-H supporters, alumni and friends alike! Guests are destined to enjoy an elegant evening of food, conversation, and entertainment paired with a silent and live auction. From stylish purses and tool-belts, to unique items you won’t find elsewhere, and an always anticipated scrumptious dessert auction, connecting with 4-H friends couldn’t be more fun. The Gala is the most anticipated Iowa 4-H fundraising event of the winter, an evening for 4-H supporters to gather together to “make the best better” for Iowa 4-H’ers.
The annual 4-H Gala event is hosted by the Iowa 4-H Foundation, a non-profit organization funding opportunities for Iowa’s 4-H Youth. To honor these ties, award winning 4-H’er exhibits from the Iowa State Fair and local county fairs will be featured during the auction, which allows donating 4-H’ers to designate 50% of the proceeds back to their club or county.
“We are excited to expand this fundraising event to two locations this coming year. We have strong 4-H supporters in eastern Iowa, and we can’t wait to get them involved,” said Brooke Young, Administrative Specialist and Gala Event Coordinator at the Iowa 4-H Foundation.
The Gala event continues to grow every year. The Central Iowa 4-H Gala presented by John Deere will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 6:00 P.M. at The Meadows at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Iowa.
New to the Gala fun, the Eastern Iowa 4-H Gala will be held one week later on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 6:00 P.M. at The Celebration Farm in Iowa City, Iowa. Past success, and a desire to connect with supporters in another part of the state, has led the foundation to expand the event to an additional location.
“With the help of many generous sponsors and individual donors, we are excited to bring together 4-H friends from all across the state of Iowa,” says Iowa 4-H Foundation Executive Director Kris Fish Kuhlman. “Proceeds from this event help us to fund many opportunities for Iowa 4-H’ers all year round.”
The cost to attend each event is $100 for individuals, $150 for couples, or a table sponsor which hosts 10 guests for $1000. Popular discounts will be returning for young 4-H alumni (age 21-30) and current 4-H/Extension staff for $50 per attendee.
