Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame Inductees

Leon & Joyce farm outside of Central City.  They are the parents of 5 children, 6 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren.  All of their children were in 4-H as well as their grandchildren.  Leon & Joyce were leaders of their children’s 4-H club, which is the same club that some of their grandchildren belong to.

They have served actively on the Linn County Fair Board for over 20 years.  Leon served in the offices of President, Vice President and Joyce served as a former Secretary.  While on the Fair Board they initiated and completed many projects to enhance the Linn County Fair for the youth involved. 

Leon also served on the Linn County 4-H Horse Committee for many years.  While on the board they promoted the High School Rodeo and hosted it at the Linn County Fair Grounds. They donated 100 percent of the money raised from the event to the Linn County Fair Grounds, which was used to pay for countless improvements.

They both served on the 4-H Youth Programs Council committee over 15 years.  Linn County 4-H is excited and lucky to have  two such dedicated and active volunteers enhancing the lives of our 4-H’ers.
