2009 Sac County - Harold & Sue PeytonHarold has been a 4-H parent and leader for the past 6 years.  He guides and instructs the Jackson’s 4-H club in several areas.  Service is a main priority.  The club has several community service projects such as meals on wheels, building & landscaping a directory at the Sac City cemetery and various painting projects such as the Sac City Museum village, the Chautauqua Building and painting at the Sac County Fair grounds.  The Sac City Museum projects and the Barn Quilt projects have involved Harold’s expertise.  Harold has instructed the Jackson’s 4-H club in parliamentary procedure so meetings are conducted properly.  He helps younger members with their presentations at the meetings. Harold helps with club lock-ins that had workshops in woodworking, and livestock showing and grooming.  He to provides guidance and education and fun in 4-H. These are just a few of the things that Harold has helped with.   Harold will say that it takes several people to make things work but he is a person that the club relies on.

Sue is an active 4-H leader and has been for the past 6 years. Sue provides workshops to help with sewing projects, food and nutrition and other projects when members need assistance.  Community Service is a top priority with Sue.  The club has several service projects throughout the Sac City Community. Sue helps with the Valentine Cookies project where the members bake and distribute cookies to businesses and government agencies in Sac City and also provides harvest snacks to the local elevators for farmers in the fall.  Planting the area flowers beds in Sac City is also a project that Sue helps with.  Sue also helps with “Meals on Wheels” for seniors, painting project such as the Sac City museum village, the Chautauqua building, painting at the 4-H fair grounds, and painting and landscaping the Sac City cemetery directory. Fun is also something that Sue says is needed in an organization and she ensures that the Jackson’s have time for swimming, bowling, & skating.  Sue is a person that the Jackson 4-H club looks to for guidance.
