Mavis has been a long time resident of Jasper County. Mavis and her husband were very involved in agriculture and owned and operated several farms in the Mingo area stretching over a thousand acres. Through their successful farming operation she has graciously and most generously contributed to the Jasper County 4-H Program by including 4-H as one of the recipients of her endowment fund each year. She donates a percentage of this fund to several organizations most of which involve either youth, under privileged, or a community need. Mavis genuinely cares about both youth and agriculture and has been a great friend to
4-H.
