Lee and JoAnn BlanchardThe 4-H program in Story County has always been a part of Lee and JoAnn Blanchard’s life from the early days that both were 4-H Club members.  JoAnn served for seventeen years as the 4-H County Youth Coordinator for the Story County Extension office and Lee served as Superintendent of the Sciences and Arts department at the Story County 4-H Youth Fair and worked behind the scenes to lend support and strengthen the 4-H program.  They also instilled in their three children the importance of being active in 4-H.  Lee and JoAnn Blanchard’s love and dedication to the 4-H program is evident in all they have done and continue to do to make 4-H a success in Story County and the State of Iowa.

·    JoAnn served seventeen years (1985-2002) as the 4-H Program Coordinator for Story
     County Extension at their office in Nevada.
·    Over the past 32 years; JoAnn was the adult volunteer leader of several 4-H Clubs; the Shipley Sunny Servers, the Grant Guys & Gals, and from 1982-2006 the Nevada Invaders.
·    JoAnn was instrumental in helping organize the Story County 4-H Youth Fair exhibits.
·    JoAnn was originally a member of the Oakland Happy Go Luckies 4-H Club.
·    JoAnn is currently an active member of the Story County Extension Historical Committee and has contributed countless hours to chronicling the history of the 4-H program in Story County over the past ninety years.
·    Lee Blanchard served for several years as adult volunteer club leader for the North Grant 4-H Club.
·    Lee helped establish and served as Superintendent of the Science & Arts department at the Story County 4-H Youth Fair.
·    Lee was the quiet, behind the scenes volunteer who was always there to help and lend a hand; be it with the County Fair, Awards Night activities, or a 4-H Club project.
·    Lee was a member of the Powersville Clovers 4-H Club in north central Missouri.
