Katie is a special education teacher in Sioux Falls. She obtained her masters degree in special education in 2019, and has been nominated for the South Dakota Teacher of the Year. She is from Sibley, Iowa, and now lives in Sioux Falls, with her husband Derek and dog Daisy. 
Katie has been a volunteer and Extension staff member for the last seven years. Her dedication to the office and 4-H program is superb. Her positive attitude and helpful spirit is a necessity throughout the summer season of events.
