2019 Jasper County: Mike Vander Molen

Mike Vander Molen has been actively volunteering with 4-H and fair activities since graduating from high school.

Mike co-led the Jasper County Senior 4-H club for ten years and has been a beef superintendent at the county fair for over twenty-five years and is always willing to assist kids wherever needed.

Mike was instrumental in getting a 4-H livestock sale implemented at the county fair approximately twenty years ago.  He went around to all the 4-H clubs in the county explaining how the sale would work and encouraging the 4-H’ers to contact local businesses to ask for their support.  He continues to line up the base prices, judges, and the trucking for the sale and is always educating our youth.  As an EMT Mike is always prepared to lend a hand wherever it is needed.

We are very fortunate to have Mike Vander Molen as an avid volunteer and youth mentor in Jasper County.
