East Pottawattamie County is honored to nominate Steve and Marge Pierce into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame.
Steve and Marge have been volunteering and dedicating their time to Pottawattamie County Fair and the East Pottawattamie County 4-H program for over 25 years.
Steve is a past member of the Westside Feeders 4-H Club, a second generation 4-H member of a four generation 4-H family.
Steve served as an East Pottawattamie County Extension Council member, a livestock leader for the West Nishna Belles 4-H Club and has announced the beef show for over 25 years. Steve was the past president of the Iowa Simmental Association, helping to bring the first 4-H Simmental breeding beef showing to the Pottawattamie County Fair. Steve has fond memories of showing beef with lifelong local friends at the Iowa State Fair and Ak-Sar-Ben. He still saves a place for his show box and many trophies he has collected over the years.
Although Marge was not a 4-H member growing up she jumped right in and is a past organizational leader of the West Nishna Belles 4-H Club and a past East Pottawattamie County Youth Committee member. She has also been a static exhibit comment writer at the Pottawattamie County Fair for over 25 years.
Steve and Marge are both East Pottawattamie County honorary 4-H members who haven’t missed more than one county fair in forty years. Steve and Marge are now the second family generation to receive induction into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame.
