2018 Sac County: Jan and Rich Mason

Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame Inductees

2018 Sac County: Jan and Rich Mason

Rich and Jan Mason have been long time supporters of the Sac County 4-H program.  Jan was a member of the Spring Cedar Peppy Pals 4-H Club in Cherokee County.  Their son, Chris, was a 4-H member in the Early Achievers 4-H Club.

Rich and Jan were both 4-H leaders of the Early Achievers 4-H Club for five years.  Rich and Jan continue to help out in the Sac County 4-H program.  They have helped with the Sac County horse show for over 20 years.

As retired leaders, they continue to volunteer to help the Early Achievers 4-H Club on 4-H entry day.  Rich and Jan support the club’s fundraising efforts for Relay for Life by attending the club’s annual Valentine Dinner.  They faithfully help on the state level with the Iowa 4-H Foundation Golf Tournament and support 4-H at the annual Iowa 4-H Awards Gala where they have purchased many delicious cakes.

They are strong community supporters and active leaders in their church.  Jan was named one of Iowa’s Top 100 Nurses in 2014.  Rich was inducted into the Iowa Draft Pony Association Hall of Fame during the 2017 Iowa State Fair.  We are happy they continue to pass on their knowledge to others and continue to support 4-H.
