2004 Winneshiek County - Edna SchrandtEdna started her 4-H career in the early 1940’s when she joined the Bluffton BlueBelles 4-H Club. During her 4-H years she gave a 4-H demonstration at state fair, served as a County 4-H Officer, and played on the county girls softball team at the state 4-H softball tournament several years.

Edna became a leader of the Pleasant Livewires 4-H Club in 1967. During the past 37 years she has served on both the County Youth Committee and currently serves on the Winneshiek County 4-H Foundation Board. She also serves on Winneshiek County United Way, as a representative for PineBluff 4-H Camp.

Edna has contributed beyond the county level, serving for many years as an evaluator and interviewer for both area and state 4-H recognition awards. She also enjoys judging 4-H communication events at county fairs.

Edna met her husband, Ted at a county 4-H softball tournament, and they’ve been married 51 years. They have 3 adult children Mary, Mark and Barb who were all active 4-H members. She has 6 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Two of her grandchildren are currently 4-H members.
