Oscar was the leader of the Logan Hotshots 4-H club for15 years. Oscar was the first superintendent of the rabbit show at the Ida County fair and continues to contribute the champion trophy. Oscar’s five sons participated at every county fair, State Fair and Aksarben. Many of Oscar’s 4-H members gave educational presentations that went to the Clay County Fair or State Fair.
Oscar’s farm is a century farm and has received awards for tree planting and care of windbreak.
