Father and son, Ed & Sid Shanks were both lifelong residents of the Lucas County. They were always big supporters of Lucas County 4-H program.
Whether it was actually being in 4-H themselves, parenting their own kids in 4-H, serving on the youth committees, sleeping at the fairgrounds all night during the fair, helping with weigh-ins, or supporting the 4-H sale; it was what the two of them were all about.
Both men would do what was asked of them with a huge smile. They would be so honored to have been recognized for something that was so natural and part of their own personalities and life.
