2015 Iowa County- George Hunt

For the past 26 years, George Hunt has contributed hundreds of volunteer hours. From serving as 4-H Club Leader, Beef Superintendent, 4-H Committee Member, Iowa County 4-H Foundation Director, Iowa County Extension Council Member, and as a member on the Iowa County Fair Board overall his support for Iowa County 4-H is immeasurable!

George was a 4-H club leader of the Eager English 4-H Club where his children, Melissa, Kristen and Devin, were active 4-H members, including youth leaders on the Iowa County Youth Council. For six years, George also contributed leadership and decision making skills as a member of the Iowa County 4-H Committee.

George continued to volunteer for Extension and 4-H after his children completed their 4-H careers. George served on the Iowa County Fair Board, Iowa County Extension Council and Iowa County 4-H Foundation Board of Directors. If George is available he is always willing to lend a helping hand.

Currently George serves as Beef Superintendent. George can be seen at every beef weigh-in and county fair set-up day. He can be seen helping in the beef, dairy and bucket/bottle show ring each year at fair.

George Hunt is an outstanding example of a 4-H volunteer and 4-H parent. He’s always ready to help, no matter what circumstance. It is volunteers like George Hunt that are the backbone of the Iowa County 4-H Program by making positive differences in the lives of our youth and community. For these reasons he extremely deserving. George is a humble individual and Iowa County 4-H is honored to have had his support for the past 26 years.
