2014 Fayette County - Don Bahe

Don Bahe, rural Stanley, was a Fayette County 4-H member from 1954-1963. He has been a great supporter and contributor to the Fayette County 4-H program and to Fayette County Extension.

Don was the Scott Hot Shots club leader from1994 to 2002, earning an Award of the Clover in 1998. He served on the Fayette County 4-H & Youth Committee from 1998-2002.  Don served on the Fayette County Extension Council from 1980-1983.  He returned to the Fayette County Extension Council in 2003 and has remained on the council since, serving as chairman since 2011.

Don has been involved with the Fayette County 4-H Foundation since its inception in 2002, currently serving as chairman.  Recently members of the Foundation Board introduced a charity golf tournament to Fayette County which annually raises funds for the Fayette County permanent 4-H endowment.

Don and his wife Deb have three children - Joe, Ann, and Dan - and five grandchildren.  All three children were nine-year Fayette County 4-H members exhibiting livestock and non-livestock at the county and state level.  During that time you would also see Don assisting in the show ring or wherever needed.

Don is a Fayette County crop farmer.  He sells DeKalb and Asgrow seed.   In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, golfing, and flying his airplane.
