Recognizing Service to 4-H - Iowa 4-H Foundation

Recognizing Service to 4-H

There are many ways the Iowa 4-H Foundation and the Iowa 4-H Program recognize youth, volunteers, staff, donors and alumni for making their commitment to 4-H and their communities.

Loren Kruse/Successful Farming Outstanding Volunteer 4-H Leader Award

This award will be given annually to one leader, nominated by a single (or group of) 4-H’er(s), who has inspired a 4-H’er to reach potentials beyond those they thought they could achieve on their own merits.

Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame

The Iowa 4-H Program and the Iowa 4-H Foundation sponsor a 4-H Hall of Fame recognition program each year. Candidates are chosen by their counties and represent both long time volunteers and Extension staff who have exemplified outstanding service and dedication to the 4-H program in that particular county.

Read more about the Hall of Fame Program and view a list of all inductees since the program was established in 2002.
To suggest nominees for induction in to the Hall of Fame, contact your ISU County Extension Office.

Alum of the Day

Help us recognize outstanding 4-H Alums! We will be honoring one 4-H Alum during the first ten days of the Iowa State Fair. Honorees will exemplify the 4-H spirit, contribute to their communities and continue to support and promote the 4-H Program. Additional Alum of the Day information here

Legacy Awards

The Legacy Awards is our annual awards ceremony to honor outstanding contributors to the Iowa 4-H Program. Four awards will be given over the course of the evening: Individual Support, Outstanding Young Alum, Corporate Partner & Contributing Youth. If you would like to make a nomination for the 2019 event, contact the Iowa 4-H Foundation at 515-294-1537.

National 4-H Hall of Fame

In 2002, the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents, National 4-H Council and 4-H Headquarters created the National 4-H Hall of Fame during 4-H’s centennial year. The National 4-H Hall of Fame was established to recognize 4-H volunteers, financial supporters, staff and pioneers who made major impacts within the 4-H movement at the local, state and national levels. New members are inducted on a regular basis.
