AMES, Iowa— The Iowa 4-H Foundation’s Sixth Annual Iowa 4-H Foundation Gala is headed east. After a successful smaller gala sponsored by the foundation in the area in 2014, the Iowa 4-H Foundation has decided to bring the event to the Marriott in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Saturday, February 28, 2015. A dinner buffet and decadent desserts will be on the event’s menu, along withunique auction items including projects made by current 4-H’ers.
AMES, Iowa- The Iowa 4-H Foundation and Hills Bank and Trust Company announce the 2015 Leadership Grants for current high school juniors. For the past 15 years, Hills Bank & Trust Company has partnered with the Iowa 4-H Foundation to provide college scholarship opportunities for Iowa youth who reside in the bank's service area.

AMES, Iowa- The Iowa 4-H Foundation has announced applications are now available for its 4-H scholarship program. Approximately 80 scholarship opportunities valued at over $73,000 will be awarded.
AMES, IA- On November 6, the Iowa 4-H Foundation received an Excellence in Concrete Award in the category of Public Works- Structures, during the Better Concrete Conference held at the Scheman Center, Iowa State University, in Ames, Iowa. The awards luncheon was hosted by the Iowa Ready Mixed Concrete Association (IRMCA).
AMES, Iowa – Nomination forms for the third annual Loren Kruse/Successful Farming Outstanding 4-H Leader Award are now available through the Iowa 4-H Foundation. This prestigious award honors one 4-H volunteer leader annually.
AMES, Iowa- Albert Grunenwald has been named Executive Director of the Iowa 4-H Foundation by the organization’s governing board effective September 23, 2014. Grunenwald has more than 19 years of experience working with youth and the Iowa 4-H Foundation.

Curt spent 25 years in the ag equipment business, splitting his time between Deere & Company and owning/managing several John Deere dealerships in Iowa.

Eric Marzen, a native of Stacyville in Mitchell county Iowa, is a 17-year veteran of Successful Farming.

AMES, Iowa – Eighty-two counties and two state level Iowa 4-H volunteers were inducted into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame during the 2014 ceremony at the 4-H Exhibits Building at the Iowa State Fair on Sunday, Aug. 17. Inductees or their surviving family members were presented a certificate by the Iowa 4-H Foundation as they were introduced on stage. In alphabetical order, Adair to Jackson Counties were recognized at 1:30, while Jefferson to Wright County were recognized at 3:30. A reception, sponsored by donors to the Iowa 4-H Foundation, was held shortly after each of the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame presentations.
AMES, Iowa- The Iowa 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees has appointed Albert Grunenwald as Interim Executive Director effective July 30, 2014.
AMES, Iowa- Tee time meant more than swinging the golf clubs; it meant raising money for Iowa’s 4-H Youth. The Central Iowa 4-H Foundation Golf Benefit, held on July 21, had golfers swinging over $25,000 to support Iowa 4-H through the Iowa 4-H Foundation.
AMES, Iowa- The Iowa 4-H Foundation announced that Kris Fish Kuhlmann has resigned from her two-year post as Executive Director effective July 24, 2014.
AMES, Iowa- It’s all about the “green”. Whether green makes you think of the environment, money, golf or 4-H, the Northwest Iowa 4-H Golf Benefit had it covered. Golfers took to the greens on Friday, June 20 to raise money for Iowa 4-H. The beautiful golf course at Emerald Hills Golf Course in Arnolds Park, Iowa hosted 28 teams of 112 golfers.
Organizers raised a net total of over $60,000 to support Iowa 4-H youth development programs, the event’s highest total to date. Teams teed off at 12:30 p.m. and enjoyed best ball, putting and hole contests throughout the afternoon, as well as homemade cookies provided by Sac County 4-H members. Following a day on the greens, an evening program began at 5:00 p.m. with a social, brief program, auction and a ribeye steak dinner.
AMES, Iowa – Throwing a surprise together is never easy, but on Wednesday, June 25 the Iowa 4-H Foundation and Successful Farming did just that at the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference Banquet being held in Iowa State University’s Hilton Coliseum. With over 700 Iowa 4-H’ers, chaperones, Extension and Outreach professionals, Iowa State faculty, and Iowa 4-H Foundation trustees in attendance Michael Tupper, an Iowa 4-H Foundation Youth Trustee, announced his independent selection committee had selected Barb Determan as the 2014 Successful Farming/Loren Kruse Outstanding Iowa 4-H Leader. Determan is 4-H Club Leader of the Early Achievers 4-H Club in Early, Iowa.
“I was completely surprised and I am very humble to receive such a high honor,” said Determan an Iowa 4-H leader who is officially in her 33 year as a volunteer Iowa 4-H leader. “I am very excited to help grow the legacy of Successful Farming’s support to Iowa’s 4-H youth. Loren Kruse’s story always inspired me, much like my mother who was my 4-H leader so many years ago.”
AMES, Iowa – At the direction of the 2013-2014 4-H State Council, 354 4-H clubs representing 81 counties participated in the Iowa 4-H’ers for 4-H Campaign - the longest-running and the largest fundraising campaign conducted by 4-H members for 4-H members. This year’s campaign raised $25,642.70 to support Iowa 4-H youth programs and activities. $1,013.14 of this year’s campaign funds will help complete the tornado safe room at the Iowa 4-H Center. The remaining funds from the campaign will fund state events such as the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference, operation costs of the 2014-2015 State Council, and fund financial assistance to help 4-H families with state program fees and 4-H camp fees at the Iowa 4-H Center.
Ames, Iowa –This year, the Iowa 4-H Foundation awarded 71 college scholarships valued at $65,750. Fifty-one of those scholarships were presented last Sunday, June 8 at the Scheman Building on the campus of Iowa State University. The 51 scholarship recipients were 4-H’ers from across the state, with 31 counties represented. These Iowa 4-H individuals will be attending an accredited university, college, or community college in the fall of 2014. Below are this year’s 51 4-H Scholarships in alphabetic order by county in which the recipient participated in 4-H. Information about each donor, which make these scholarship possible can be found at the bottom of this release. “We are so happy this year to have four new scholarships created by four new foundation donors,” said Taci Litenthal, Iowa 4-H Foundation’s Scholarship Coordinator. “It is our pleasure to help assist all our donors in making investments into Iowa’s youth and their higher education ambitions.” These new scholarships are: Ronald and Ruby Godfrey Family 4-H Scholarship, Verle and Ellen Hunt Memorial 4-H Scholarship, Carol Schneider 4-H Scholarship, and Trans Ova Genetics 4-H Scholarship. AMES, Iowa—The Iowa 4-H Foundation announces the Trans Ova Genetics Scholarship for 2014. This scholarship will provide a $1500 scholarship for undergraduates attending any public or private college or university fall 2014. Other qualifications for the scholarship include: GPA 3.0 or higher, demonstration of leadership in extracurricular activities, and future career aspirations to enter the livestock reproduction or genetic biotechnology fields.
