Funding for 4-H'ers

The Iowa 4-H Foundation provides funds for many of the opportunities – the events, programs and activities – that allow young people to experience the benefits of 4-H. These opportunities help young people enhance their ability to use critical thinking, leadership, communication, and social skills – tools that will give them a competitive edge in their future endeavors.

The 4-H Foundation also provides funds for the financial help that 4-H’ers need in order to participate in many of these opportunities. These funds range from partial funding to attend a 4-H camp or a full-tuition college scholarship. Here are the funding opportunities available to Iowa’s 4-H youth and clubs.

Iowa 4-H Program Enrollment Fee

The Iowa 4-H Foundation provides funds for youth who need financial assistance to pay the member fee for club and individual participation in the Iowa 4-H Youth program.  These funds are intended to provide an opportunity for youth who otherwise would be financially unable to register as club or individual members in 4-H.

Grants

Program grants are a great way to help youth experience 4-H in their local communities.  The number of grant opportunities varies each year.  One popular grant for 4-H clubs is the Pioneer Community Improvement Grant, which provides “seed money” to help Iowa 4-H’ers make their communities better places to live and work.
